    Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking qualified Telephone Operators for service at a VA facility in Asheville, NC. Full-time and part-time call center positions with competitive packages are available. Shifts vary. A high degree of tact and diplomacy is required when dealing with Veterans who have multiple health problems and who may be frustrated with the administrative process associated with diagnosis and treatment. As a front line contact with patients and staff, the Telephone Operator sets the tone for perception concerning quality of healthcare services at the VA.

    Responsibilities

    • Operates a telephone switchboard in a medical facility
    • Answers incoming calls from the main line and triages the number
    • Operates medical facility telephone system/switchboard to receive and connect incoming and outgoing calls
    • Answers/places non-routine telephone calls such as fax and international calls
    • Routes calls to their proper destination
    • Provides telephone and organization information to callers
    • Redirects calls and persons inquiring about lost and found services to the appropriate destination
    • Records and maintains the official log books for the logging of emergency codes, door keys to gain entry to various accesses to the telephone switch room and telephone closets

    Qualifications

    • One year of relevant experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent; high school diploma may be substituted for two years of demonstrated, full-time experience in a Telephone Operator role
    • Customer service skills and ability to operate basic telecommunications equipment
    • U.S. Citizen
    • Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity, hand coordination, pleasant voice, good diction, good pronunciation and acute hearing. Work is general sedentary with minimal mobilization to work groups and departments to work directly with staff to resolve problems
